At Stenzhorn, craftsmanship is not simply a discipline, but a defining signature. Our creations are shaped through techniques that demand both precision and intuition, refined over time and mastered in-house. Among them, the art of invisible setting and the precision of channel setting stand as expressions of our distinctive savoir-faire, where gemstones are brought to life with clarity, continuity, and quiet strength.

INVISIBLE SETTING

Invisible setting is a technique where gemstones are set side-by-side without visible metal prongs or bezels, creating a seamless surface of stones. Each gemstone is grooved carefully along its pavilion edges. The grooves fit into a fine metal rail structure beneath the surface. This hidden framework holds the stones securely.

Stones must be precisely calibrated to both equal colour and dimensions, so they sit perfectly flush and level with one another and resemble one seamless coloured surface, with no metal visible.

CHANNEL SETTING

Channel setting with baguettes requires extreme precision, giving a modern, architectural aesthetic.

The technique provides excellent protection for stone edges since no prongs are exposed. Baguette-cut stones must be precisely matched in length, width, and height for even spacing and level alignment, and carefully placed side by side within the channel. The metal walls themselves hold the stones in place.
